Chair for WINGSTONE CASA
The design idea of Colored Finch Chair was inspired from the fairy in nature—finches. The bird observes all things in nature in trees. It looks proud and free, and its splendid wings covering the round body figuratively exemplify the fairy painting on the green canvas of nature. The designer thoroughly observing the postures of bird discovered the most general bird’s shapes artistically converted into the design of furniture, thus adding a touch of spiritual atmosphere of nature in the space.

Chair, Furniture, Product, Homeware, Design
To make the chair both stylish and comfortable, the designer made the backrest look straight upfront and curved on the side. Given these considerations, the designer asked the factory to use the double-layer curved wood according to the Rhino model of product. To make entire chair thin and light, the production team needed to develop the suitable metal parts so to manufacture the finished product.
We had changed some suppliers before finding the ideal manufacture to impeccably embody the furniture. It required a challenging craftmanship to complete Colored Finch Chair, which demanded extraordinary expertise for manufacturing. During the process, the brand owner and the designer endured diverse pressures. They had to confirmed repeatedly with the cooperative manufacture. It was the hardship of creation.
Proposal confirmation in May 2020. Market launch in October 2020.
There were 16 prototypes of Colored Finch Chair, which means that the model of Colored Finch Chair was modified for 16 times in the phase of modeling. The scenarios were simulated by applying the medical dummy to the different usages of chair so to determine the size of chair and the final project. After finalizing the shape of chair, the designer generated the rendering. In this phase, the product in rendering was simulated so to discover the best materials, and its scale was examined in the final run.
Colored Finch Chair is a piece of composite furniture whose backrest and chair seat were made of the handmade multi-layer woods. The chair legs were made of metal tubes uniformly laminated by handmade fabrics.
