Rotating Multifunctional Furniture for fabrizio Constanza design
A bar and a coffee reading ambient gets all stylish. Like a scene from a movie, where hidden matters are revealed at a push of a button, in this design a hidden bar rotates out from behind a coffee reading space at the command from a smart phone. This is possible by the combination of a rotating platform, custom furniture and automatization technology that qualifies this project as a multifunctional furniture for small spaces.

The design is a complex composition of one space hosting two variable scenarios. At a command it rotates 180 degrees from a pleasant reading or coffee drinking setting to a delightful liquor and bar tasting ambient. Each ambient was designed independently in accordance with its functionality to improve the user experience. The final design futures automatization control and illumination technology to manage mood of the space; Rotating platform to switch from one to the other scenario; and traditional wood and metal working to generate human experience furniture.

Rotating home bar and coffee station production included manufacture on two countries and 10 companies. This project required from precision cnc manufacture to traditional metal and woodworking. We organized woodwork, metalwork, stonework, electricity, glasswork, lighting, stainless steel, automatization, 3d digital modeling and a carousel production.
The main challenge was to find the rotating platform to work with and design the two ambiens always considering keeping the weight down, user safety and holding objects in place. I did some research on boats and trains furniture.
the project started on December 2020 and finished on november 2021
Rotating home bar and coffee station can be operated for rotation and lighting scenarios from a smart phone or tablet through an automatization app. Also, can be control through control panel on the wall.
To design this rotating multifunctional furniture, I had to understand the client’s idea and how it became to be. Turns out the client is a technology and movie enthusiast whose dream was to have a rotating ambient, like in the movies. The biggest challenge was to find the rotational system. During the research stage I remember the rotating platforms at car dealers, so it became easier to find the rotating platform. Once installed the platform, we began designing the two ambiens.
While designing the rotating bar and coffee stations our main inspiration was to produce a system capable to enhance the clients experience of tasting exquisite liquor, wines, and coffee. The design captures the client interest on technological possibilities, unique designed objects, and delight guests.
