Information Interaction for 5:12 Studio
Using geofencing, Anydrop changes the way people share information by encapsulating information within a fixed geographical space and other devices have access to the information only when they enter the area. In this way, Anydrop furthest integrates information with its scene, like files in the conference room or the timetable in the railway station. Meanwhile, users are able to interact with actual items through Anydrop, enriching user experience.

Anydrop is a geofencing-based information interaction platform. Users are able to project information to a fixed geographical location and encapsulate within. Anydrop filters recipients by location to maximize the integration of information with its scene. In this way, information will be delivered to people in need. Meanwhile, users can interact with actual items through Anydrop, enriching user experience.
information transmission, interaction, socialize, social service, location
The core technology of Anydrop is geofencing. Geofence is a virtual perimeter for a real-world geographic area. It can dynamically acquire user's location with the signal generator deployed in the space, and broadcast information to user's devices. With the help of geofencing, Anydrop can achieve accurate information delivery, which offers a brand-new user experience.
Since Anydrop is location-based, how to accurately locate users without violating their privacy is the primary challenge we face. In addition, how to filter the information that users want is another problem we ought to solve.
The project started in September 2021 and finished in January in 2022 in Beijing.
With Anydrop, users can filter the recipients of information by their geographic location. Only when a device enters the appropriate spatial range does it have access to the information. Conference documents can be sent to all devices in the venue simultaneously, public officials can receive repair reports in the daily patrol and bad mood can be shaken off right in the place.
Our research focuses on the improvement of existing information sharing patterns. Through data from 326 questionnaires and further interviews with 15 respondents, we found out some pain points in traditional information interaction like information hybridity, over informativeness etc. Combined with our own experience and brainstorm, we creatively determined location as a new carrier of information exchange.
Inspired by the metaverse, we hope to find a new carrier for information interaction. Through the analysis of user journey map, we find out that information relates to a unique scene, such as the exhibition information of the art museum or the train schedule in a railway station. So, we try to link information to physical space, thus breaking down the barriers between information and scene.
