Lamp for Espólio Família Cordeiro and Luciana Brito Galeria
In c.1955 a Brazilian artist designed and made a lamp to illuminate a garden landscape designed by him. There is only a single register of the lamp: a small piece of journal with its photograph. That was the starting point to recreate the lamp and the light effect produced by it: from a single source of light, due to internal reflections and the different distances from the source to the white rings, a 4W LED lamp can create a range of shades, varying from dark gray to pure white.

The lamp structure was made of solid aluminum using computerized machines by Alvaro Wolmer Movelaria Fina Ltda, the woodworking and metal shop of the team's head designer, Alvaro Wolmer. The finishing is electrostatic painting
In the first model, the architect and designer Andre Vainer reproduced the original one, with two lamps. The result was a good light and not so much of an effect regarding the shadings of light, but it was a very good starting point. I was hired to develop the product and produce a prototype of the lamp. I made models to establish the exact proportions then I came up with a simple solution: one simple LED round lamp that delivered a bright enough light. After finishing the pre-prototype, I turned on the light in a dark room - the result was stunning
The project started in March 2017 in Sao Paulo and was finished also in Sao Paulo in October 2018
There is a on/off press button underside the lamp
In c.1955 a fine Brazilian artist designed and made a lamp to illuminate a garden landscape designed by him. There is only a single register of the lamp: a small piece of journal with its photograph. That was the starting point to recreate the lamp and the magnificent light effect produced by it. In 2017 Analivia Cordeiro, the artist's collection curator and an artist herself, and Luciana Brito Galeria, that represents Cordeiro since 1997, both decided to recreate the original one, with contemporary materials and techniques

Cordeiro was a concrete artist, a theorist, and a landscape designer. The first artist of computer art, now called Digital Art, in Latin America.
