Side Table for Ondřej Ryšavý
A bedside table in anodized aluminum, with functional storage space, and a touch-sensitive light source. The design takes into account the materials used, its inbuilt components, and its usage. In addition to a drawer the bedside table is fitted with a recessed niche, which gives users considerable security and ease of access when storing and putting away items even in the dark. Another feature is the integrated light source in the top compartment, operated by touching the table top.

Unique Properties
Great emphasis has been given to the functionality of the storage space.In addition to a drawer, the bedside table is fitted with a recessed niche, which gives users considerable security and ease of access when storing and putting away items even in the dark. Another outstanding feature is the integrated light source in the top compartment, operated by touching the table top, which thanks to its inset position suitable lights up the space.

Production Technology
The aluminum used was cut with a water jet and bent on a press brake.The aluminum surface is sandblasted and finally anodized. The sliders are 3D printed.
Design Challenge
The most difficult point was shaping and working with aluminum and integrating touch technology.
Project Duration
The product was designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic
Operation Flow
Easy touch switch and easily accessible storage spaces. Opening the drawer is intuitive and more individual, because it does not focus on the solid handle and the touch switch motivates to touch, which makes the bedside table more intimate.
Research
In early creation, 3D printing was used to create a model, which was then used to determine ideal proportions. In the next phase, it was necessary to solve the resistances in electrical engineering during the implementation of the touch switch and achieving the correct function.
Inspiration
The goal was to create a product with a sincere and timeless design. The aim was to highlight the essence of the product and to make the time spent on the bed more pleasant.
