Design Challenge
The primary challenge was to design an ergonomic chair by identifying the ideal geometry and then fine-tuning the angles to achieve functionality. The dual objectives of aesthetics (beauty) and performance (function) were served by creating a novel design that balances between the two.
Project Duration
The project was began and completed in April 2022 in Tehran, Iran.
Operation Flow
If the chair’s configuration needs to be changed, all that is needed is a simple motion to turn over and convert the chair. The users of the chair will appreciate its user friendliness and its ease of use.
Inspiration
Living in crowded cities has made living spaces smaller. Designers can benefit everyone by designing multi-purpose devices for these smaller spaces. There is no age limitation for using this chair, both children and adults can comfortably use this chair.
Project Overview
Familial Chair has been a Bronze winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
