Inspired by Erhu, a traditional Chinese classical instrument, Erhu's unique timbre is presented in the form of seats by interpreting the intangible with the tangible, the design incorporated national culture as a language of modern furniture, exploring a new style of contemporary Chinese furniture. The structure is so simple that there are only two parts: seat surface and legs. The chair back, seat surface and front leg are made of curved plywood as a whole, and the three-dimensional seating space is completed with two-dimensional curves fitting the shape of the human body.

The integrated shape of the seat surface, chair back and front leg is completed by pressing the curved plywood in a premade mold. The surface used ash wood and walnut for veneering. The legs are made of walnut.

Erhu has a long history in China. The shape of the back leg simulates the Ming style hoof shaped leg, which is a tribute to Ming-style furniture and interprets traditions in a new way.
