Residential for Nisso Interior Design
The design team used a minimalist American style to create a modern atmosphere. The style and color of the system cabinets are varied, which makes the proportion and color match crucial. The design team started from the furniture selected by the client and created a system cabinet that matched the furniture tone and even the main color of the space. Considering the clients' preference for dark colors and casual style, the design team added warm lighting to the dark system cabinets to blend with the bright color tone.

The design team used a wooden grille with gray paint to decorate the beams to weaken the presence of this volume and divide the living room and the study room. The grille on the facade next to the dining room is designed as a hidden door, and the space inside is a storage room. Instead of a pure white facade, the design team used a color flash of gray and white here. There is a highlight in the foyer. The design team inserted a black system cabinet with drawers on the facade and an acrylic system cabinet on the right side for storage. System boards are applied throughout the space, with various colors and textures.

Wooden flooring is for the interior. In the public area, stone grain tiles are paved in the entrance, TV wall, and kitchen. Meanwhile, the storage is made of customized system cabinets. In the kitchen, in addition to the gray system cabinets, an acrylic door is installed on the other side. In the private area, the facade of the second bedroom is decorated with a grille made of system boards. On the other hand, low formaldehyde, anti-fading, anti-mold, and anti-bacterial latex paint is used in the whole space, which can be maintained by wiping.
Due to the outbreak of the epidemic in Taiwan, the clients and the design team discussed the project only three times before returning to the US. Since the client could not be present during the construction process, all communication was done through photos and videos, which tested the project execution and communication skills of the design team.
The project finished in August 2021 in Taiwan.
The layout met the requirements so that the clients could move in as soon as they back to Taiwan. Apart from the decoration, the design team also installed the furniture and other appliances such as a washing machine, water heater, and router. It means that all the services are taken care of at one time, and the whole space is equipped with complete living functions. This thoughtful planning allows the clients to move in. Furthermore, considering a large amount of luggage the clients will bring back from abroad, the dressing room and other storages are adequate.
The design team connected the living room with the study room and only used the grill to create an open-plan study room. At the same time, the color and function of the system cabinets are tailored to each space. And the system cabinets in the dining room are designed as movable furniture, allowing more flexibility in the large space. The design team did not use too much baking paint during the decoration process to avoid damage to health. At the same time, no stairs were added to interrupt the route to meet the planning for the seniors.
The client is a 65-year-old couple who has lived in the United States for a long time and returns to Taiwan occasionally. Their desired style is American minimalist, calm, and casual, with plenty of storage. Given this, the design team did not apply complicated designs. First, the design team removed the facade between the living room and the study room to enlarge the space. The design team also used cool colors as the main tone, together with tiles, grilles, and system cabinets. Finally, the design was embellished with distinctive lighting to create an elegant and luxurious feeling.
