Unique Properties

The Incubator is a co-working space and nurturing hub for start-up technology companies. Considering its business nature, we intend to create a working environment with vitality, connectivity and flexibility. Our design succeeded in fulfilling the needs of public spaces and privacy. The office is comprised of 2 segments: the informal collaboration spaces and individual offices and meeting rooms, which catered for communal events, cross-company interaction as well as private working spaces.

Design Challenge

Materials are carefully picked, visual comfort with low light reflectivity and matt surface, soft touch, anti-fingerprint, thermal healing of superficial micro scratches provides easy maintenance of the space. Through the use of glass compartments, the overall space is spacious and well-lighted whether it has an external window or not; the top lighting frame is matched with the regular grid to modify the open pipeline in the ceiling.

Inspiration

When stepping into the place, visitors are greeted by the metallic green panel, also greenery set on the light troughs in main office, which foresees the environment-oriented business and creates a relaxed space for idea exchange. Different from traditional companies, this incubator requires greater flexibility with few fixed work stations. Considering this, the designer created several independent functional areas, which can conduct a large holistic gathering space when combined together.

The Incubator Commercial has been a Iron winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution. Recipients of the Iron A' Design Award are acknowledged for their practical innovations and contributions to their respective fields, providing solutions that improve quality of life and foster positive change. These designs are a testament to the skill and dedication of their creators, showcasing their ability to address real-world challenges through thoughtful design.
