Shuffle executive lounge and club is a unique social space that acts as a filter between its internal space and the city outside. The club is designed with different spaces along a progressive path. The path starts from the minimal façade to the reception area with over a hundred illuminated cylinders, then proceeding to the lounge area, which is decorated with 300 bottles that are programmed to illuminate along with the music. Each space is a temporal field giving a unique sensory space.

The path starting from the minimal façade to the reception area with over hundred illuminated cylinders, then proceeding to the lounge area, which decorated with 300 bottles that programmed to illuminate along with music. Each space is a temporal field giving a unique sensory space.

Design Challenge

On the street of Lan Kwai Fong, the bustling night-life hub in the heart of Central, Hong Kong, the designer intentionally decorated the façade of the lounge with greyish white texture paint, a minimal and rational block making a strong contrast among the glittering bars and clubs. The dark entrance has created a mysterious way heading to the unknown.

Inspiration

In Hong Kong, glamourous details are normally adopted for bar & lounge design. While in reality, what Asia lacks, is spaces placing user experience as core value. We aspired to transfer the venue into a “zone of zen” for visitors - with the progressive designated path, we tactically installed different lightings and sought the balance between blank and designed areas, to create a space with sensory excitement, yet act as a calming space allowing guests to set aside their hustle behind.

Shuffle Bar and Lounge has been a Silver winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
