Earrings for Werk bytcjdesigns
These one of a kind earrings feature an asymmetric design handcrafted in 18ct white gold, 2 x 1ct pear cut diamonds with 1ct pear cut sapphire, and small diamond and sapphires. The earrings can be worn with a drop section that can be added to left the left or right earring or removed and worn as a pendant. The right earring hooks around the ear with flowers balanced inside the ear. Left is a stud earring that compliments it. The left is a flamboyant earring design that takes inspiration from a bird on a branch viewing its perceived reflection while the right is the true shy reflection.

Production Technology
Repurposed 18ct white gold drawn into metal wire to form body of main earring ,Hand crafted , laser welding. Hand finishing, grain set and bezel set sapphires and diamonds , polishing.
Design Challenge
Production possibilities with gemstone availability.The wire drawing and formation and balance of the earring in ear.
Project Duration
The project started in October 2021 in York finished in February 2022 in York and was exhibited in London March 2022.
Operation Flow
The object can be handled easily with the left earring that hooks easily around the ear and with a right hand stud fitted easily with pin through eat .The drop section can easily hook on to either earring or slide on to a chain and worn as a necklace.
Research
Following my initial image of bird on a branch viewing reflection I spent time researching bird image and reflection in water and how what’s seen is it a mirror image . I spent days re sketching the image to its basic wire form and from their transformed the initial shape using cad cam and by stretching the shape it took on a hook shape which inspired the hook design around the ear with the reflection part progression to a removable drop .Methods included sketching, layout tracing , hand rendering and cad cam with the making using hand craftsmanship.
Inspiration
Originally based on a bird viewing its own reflection in the water we do not always see the perfect reflection of ourselves. I wanted to design based on the the side we show and the side we keep hidden.The right earring is flamboyant were the left is more subtle

Reflection Earrings has been a Silver winner in the Jewelry Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
