The appearance of light is accompanied by dawn and dusk. When the light shines, it brings sensory pleasure. Light is full of life, with emotion and experience; Technology gives different display. Light Surge explores the relationship between materials, technology, and clothing. As a technological fiber material, optical fiber has more possibilities for the spatial structure between clothing and body. When the clothing combines the light-guided fiber with the artificial glass through sewing and handmade embroidery, the contrast and details of the light created.

Unique Properties
"Light Surge" explores the relationship between materials, technology, and clothing. As a technological fiber material, optical fiber has more possibilities for the spatial structure between clothing and body. When the clothing combines the light -guided fiber with the artificial glass through sewing and handmade embroidery, the contrast and details of the light created.

Production Technology
Mainly using optical fiber fabrics and garment fabrics and hand-seamed drill chains, mobile phone software is used in the control of light, which can be controlled remotely within a certain range.
Design Challenge
There will be many uncertainties in the debugging of light and the production of clothing. Such as the structure of light power supply and placement. As well as the more patient test is the hand-sewn crystal diamond chain, but the process is very happy and fulfilling.
Project Duration
The project began in The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in December 2022, was completed in The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in March 2023, and exhibited at The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in May 2023.
Operation Flow
You can cycle the light transformation by yourself by turning on the switch through the set program, and you can also control the light transformation in real time through the mobile phone software. Make it change color and light and dark between blue and white.
Research
The design of the work comes from a photograph of a sea slug eating a silver coin jellyfish by photographer Gary Bell Minden. From the silhouette and structure of the garment and the presentation of light, I combine hand-stitched drill chains, garment structure inlaid LED strips and fiber-optic cloth. The three-dimensional knot made of optical fiber cloth and the hanging optical fiber make the clothing shape present a sensual spirit.
Inspiration
Inspired by some glowing marine phenomena and marine life. Such as fluorescent beaches and sea slugs. The light visually presents a burst of spring and a feeling of flexibility in the garment.
