Womenswear Collection for Biryukova Alsu
This design tells about the Great Silk Road, a unique social phenomenon when the East became acquainted with the West and both worlds were enriched with knowledge of each other. Each item in the collection is made of natural fabrics and manually decorated with silk ribbons. Each item is a postcard from different places and tells its own story. Here you can see the rice terraces of China, and night in the Japanese garden, and patterns of wind on the sands in the desert, and feel the coolness of oases.

For the manufacture of decor in my work, ribbons made of natural silk were used. These ribbons are sewn by hand. Patterns on products repeat patterns of wind in the sand, rice terraces in China, patterns of faults in rocks.
This design was quite complicated in execution, because the main work was done manually. It took a lot of time. And I also wanted to convey a complex range of impressions from studying the history of the Great Silk Road.
The project began in 2013, when the first coat in this technique was created. Then the collection was gradually replenished. In 2018, an exhibition was held in Russia, the city of Samara, called the Great Silk Road. in 2018, this collection took part in the contest "New Names in Design", the city of Samara, Russia in 2018, the collection became the winner of the fashion festival, Russia, Samara. in 2019, the collection won the Ulyanovsk fashion week contest
All garments look alive. Different items of clothing go well together. This is a couture clothing that is comfortable to wear in everyday life.
This collection is an attempt to combine the eastern and western cultures that are inside of me. This is a story about the beauty of the East, as travelers of the Great Silk Road once told about it many centuries ago. Each item is a postcard from different travel destinations or a valuable gift in the East. You can see the rice terraces of China, and the night peonies in the Japanese garden, and the wind patterns on the sands of the desert, and feel the coolness of the oasis, and open the Chinese casket
The Great Silk Road is not just a trade route, it is a unique historical phenomenon that introduced two different worlds - east and west. This is the appearance of new cities and countries, this is the spread of science and culture, this is the path to unknown and new discoveries. This collection is my view of the mysterious east. Blooming Japanese gardens, patterns of wind on the sands of the desert, cool oases, desert mirages, rice terraces, varnished Chinese caskets can all be seen in my collection.
