Unique Properties
The NE01 openbuds is a wireless open Bluetooth headset. Its most unique feature is the innovative rebound mechanism and hovering ear clip design, which brings users an external wearing experience. At first glance, as a headphone between traditional in-ear and non-in-ear types, NE01 openbuds solves the problems of ear canal infection and wearing inconvenience. It is also equipped with various auricle sizes, allowing users to enjoy the product in terms of operation and wearing experience. of friendliness.

Production Technology
In order to shorten the distance between technology and people, a diamond-cut edge design is used, combined with highly translucent plastic material PC as the charging case shell, to create a technological and aesthetic characteristic. Integrating emotions into the product, the unique way of holding the headphones makes the product more interesting. In order to ensure the service life, the wear-resistant material POK is used as the internal component, and it has been used more than 100,000 times.
Design Challenge
The biggest challenge is that the press-and-pop mechanism is used in TWS headphones for the first time. The headphones are often used at high-frequency, so the reliability of the press-and-pop mechanism has to be of high standard, regarding the service life, strength, distance, sound, and touch of the pressing mechanism. During this period, many structural engineers output more than a dozen of structure plans and various materials research, and overcame all problems to achieve the current pressing experience.
Project Duration
The project was designed and developed in Dongguan, Guangdong in August 2022, and will be completed and listed in Dongguan, Guangdong in December 2023.
Operation Flow
The earphones are magnetically attached to both sides of the cabin. When the user presses the back of the earphones while they are in the charging case, the earphones pop out automatically. They can take out the earphones easily from the case. Place the earphones on the outer auricle of your ears, pinch the “hook”at the tail end of the earphones to a position that suits you. Action completed! The earphones do not identify left or right, allowing users to wear and store them without thinking.
Research
In order to realize the vision of making clip-on headphones comfortable for everyone to wear, they pre-designed dozens of solutions. During this period, they visited 8 cities in China, conducted interviews with 400 users and collected 3D ear contour data of 100 users. They have very sufficient data support, and finally decided on the current design.
Inspiration
People like to squeeze plastic bubble wrap because it can release pressure and bring people physical and mental pleasure. They hope to convey this feeling to users through products. Therefore, the NE01 openbuds cabin is designed to use a press-and-pop method to take the headphones. The carefully designed mechanical sound of press-and-pop and the feeling of pressing allow users to have a pleasant experience every time they use the headphones.
Project Overview
NE01 Openbuds TWS Earphones has been a Bronze winner in the Audio and Sound Equipment Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality.
