Contemporary Jewelry Line for Maison Domecq
The Organic line works the fold by means of a rolled and, depending on the case, warped surface. The formal feature that articulates the product line is the cleft, both horizontally and vertically. This involves the transformation of flat geometric shapes (rectangles and squares) into volumetric shapes (slits) by means of straight cross sections and strategic joints at a point. The cleft contributes mainly to the meaning of the concepts of rhythm and organicity.

The Organic line, 2018, works the fold by means of a rolled and, depending on the case, warped surface. The formal feature that articulates the product line is the cleft, both horizontally and vertically. Depending on the case, the crease contributes to the primary function of the product. However, the cleft contributes mainly to the meaning of the concepts of rhythm and organicity.

Material: double glued cowhide leather. Manufacture: Manual. The guiding idea was based on the generation of volumes (3D pieces) obtained from planes (geometric surfaces). For this purpose, the internal, regular and transversal straight cuts were established, allowing flexibility. The joints had to be minimal, so they had to be joined at a single point. The bracelets by a single central point and the earrings rolled up on themselves diagonally. To fasten and unfasten for use, the bracelet and ring have metal cuff links, and the earrings have a stainless steel wire loop.
When the development of this project was proposed, we had already been working on the generation of volumes from surfaces, but we always found ourselves with solutions that took a long time to produce. It was then that the challenge was to achieve it with a single joint and still work as a product and fit the body. In all cases the response amazed us as they were assimilated and valued by our users immediately. Figure rolled / warped surface. Slit elements. Full metallic colors.
The project started in October 2017 and finished in January 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
They are designed to be comfortable to wear, so that the wearer can put them on without help. They are designed for daily use and with the appropriate weights so as not to cause damage to the user. In the case of the bracelet and the ring, they have metal cufflinks that serve to fasten and unfasten for use. In the case of the ring, it is adjustable. The bracelet has a single position, but you can customize its anchorage, as well as the earrings, which can be shortened. In the case of the earrings, a stainless steel wire is used to generate the curl that will be introduced into the earlobe.
Research type direct experimentation on the material. The Objective: To transform a flat surface into a three-dimensional object through cuts. Until finding the way, months of tests with different types of cuts and joints to obtain the final shape. These proposals have been used as an example of design for the formulation of graduate theses, has obtained the Seal of Good Argentine Design and is sold among others in the MALBA and Mudam and MUMeDi museum stores.
"Geometry is to nature what grammar is to the art of writing" Transformation of flat geometric shapes (rectangles and squares) into volumetric shapes (clefts) through straight cross sections and strategic joints at one point. This, together with the brand's own values of material recovery, seek to extend the perception of the objects as unique and durable pieces.
