Ear inspired by the curved lines of nature; It was designed as a seating element. It is produced by master craftsmen, using completely natural materials, by hand and as a result of long efforts. Ear armchair is made of hornbeam wood found in nature. This makes it a timeless and sustainable product. Soft teddy pro fabric is used in the product. Thanks to the soft texture of the fabric used, the comfort of the Ear armchair is maximized. Ear Armchair; It will adapt to any space with its timeless design and elegant minimalist appearance.

Unique Properties

Ear armchair is designed as a seating element. The fact that it is handcrafted by master craftsmen using completely natural materials and after long efforts makes it different from other seating elements. Ear armchair is produced from hornbeam wood, a timeless and sustainable material. Soft teddy boucle fabric is used for its covering. In this way, the comfort of the Ear armchair is maximized. Ear armchair will adapt to any space due to its minimalist appearance created by the curved lines in its timeless design and its production in soft colors.

Production Technology

Its internal skeleton and fabric - covered back are made of hornbeam wood . The wooden part on the back is made of hornbeam veneered plywood , shaped by special hand pressing. The arm parts are made entirely by hand and carved from hornbeam wood. Ecru colored teddy pro/boucle fabric , specially woven for the Ear armchair is used in the covering.

Design Challenge

The most important challenge in the design process was to create a technical solution that was unique , comfortable and sustainable at the highest level. The aim of the process was to provide ergonomics and comfort with the serene yet original design of the curved form of the product that excites the user ​

Project Duration

The project was designed and developed in Turkey in June 2022 and launched in Turkey in January 2022

Operation Flow

Its interaction with the user arises from the appeal of organic forms in nature. The round lines on the product invite the user to sit comfortably. The combination of the warm appearance of wood and soft color encourages users to use the furniture by allowing them to perceive the comfort of the furniture before trying it on.

Research

During the design process, form, function and ergonomics follow each other. After examining the organic and serenity in nature, the designers decided to design the product inspired by this form. With detailed observation of nature, form, back-seat part, armchair legs, etc. The product was created by being equipped with various functions, including : Ergonomically, the product has been shaped according to the comfort of the user

Inspiration

Ear; It is a product created with a comfortable, timeless and innovative design idea. The curve detail, inspired by the curved lines of nature, resembles the branches of a tree. It is as elegant and simple, strong and thin as the branches of the tree. There are two backrests at the back; The pieces, one covered with hornbeam wood and the other with fabric, were designed with inspiration from leaves and flowers.

Ear Armchair has been a Iron winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
