The choice of wrapping paper for cold process soap is based on its adaptability to vary dimensions influenced by temperature and humidity. This decision ensures compatibility with potential changes in product weights and promotes a sustainable, waste-free, and eco-friendly design. In contrast to industrialized product packaging, it exudes simplicity and a natural outdoor essence. As part of a series, the current four designs convey distinctive brand narratives, inviting users to seek relief from stressful city life and immerse themselves in mountain tales.

In terms of functionality, we've collected dimensions from 50 batches of soaps with different formulas to discover ways to accommodate the variability of different products. Apart from accommodating the soap, can the product also serve other items? We continuously adjust the soap packaging paper's dimensions not only to tailor it for cold process soap but also to make it equally suitable for other products.
This project commenced in November 2022 in Seattle and concluded in January 2023. YEMI adopted it as a product packaging solution starting in February 2023.
The design seamlessly blends images with text, creating multiple layers to captivate users and encourage exploration of the information conveyed through the soap packaging. The description of the making process was hidden in the repetitive Chinese characters. Within the text backgrounds, each shot embeds descriptions of the handmade process, providing surprises for the users. The packaging paper subtly reveals the soap's colors, enticing users to untie the ribbon and explore the essence of nature
In the realms of humanity and art, we often contemplate how packaging paper can transcend beyond being a disposable commodity. Starting from the product's own narrative, what defines suitable packaging? How do we instill affection in customers with a mere sheet of packaging paper? Could packaging paper evolve into a work of art? When CraftFlow was created, answers to all these questions were found.
CraftFlow, inspired by the cold process of soap-making, embodies simplicity in packaging design to convey the captivating moments of soap production. Our design ethos focuses on capturing nature and documenting the artisanal journey. Collage, our primary method, weaves together photographs that capture the laborious moments and offer diverse perspectives of the process. Unwrapping the package becomes an immersive experience akin to watching a short film, portraying the handcrafted soap journey from raw material collection to manufacturing. Our goal is to show the highest respect for craftsmanship.
