Installation Art for BOTANIPLAN VON LEE CHI
Inspired by profound feelings towards nature and experience as an architect, Lee Chi focuses on the creation of unique botanical art installations. By reflecting upon the nature of art and researching creative techniques, Lee transforms life events into formalized artworks. The theme of this series of works is to investigate the nature of materials and how materials can be reconstructed by the aesthetic system and new perspective. Lee also believes that the redefinition and reconstruction of plants and other artificial materials may make natural landscape have an emotional impact on people.

The theme of this series of works is to investigate the nature of materials and how materials, after being disassembled, can be reconstructed by the aesthetic system and new perspective. Lee also probes into the utilization of plants in the city apart from the outdoor landscape. The redefinition and reconstruction of plants and other artificial materials may make natural landscape have an emotional impact on people.

The most challenging part of this research is to deconstruct the landscape and texture in Taiwan's cities and then from which let the artworks demonstrate the spiritual images of the environment and the connection between different material compositions. The series of works looks for permanent installations in space that link those images while signifying the necessary contingency measures for particular places with different environmental conditions.
The project started in January 2019 in Taipei and finished in March 2019 in Taipei. Artwork was exhibited in Botaniplan Von Lee Chi studio during May 23 to June 6, 2019. And also artwork gallery BOUNTIFUL JOURNEY in Taipei during September 23 to 28, 2019.
This installation is intended to be displayed statically.
This series of works explores the way to make the non-recyclables produced non-unidirectional value under the economic system. It carries out experiments on its development potentials and various techniques of the manufacturing process based on the nature of materials. Therefore, the inorganic waste can be recycled and remade as mixed media for artworks.
Inorganic substances, as recognizable compounds, have become the primary environmental condition for people in cities to rely on. Based on Taiwan's history, it is understandable to see a delicate balance between the social class and quality in cities. However, Lee Chi believes that the actual outline of environments would only emerge if we exclude the knowledge we get from all cultures and civilizations, he sheds light on the relationship between his artworks and space where they settle.
