Chair for Zhijiang college of zhejiang university of technology
Only the natural beauty will never fade. The design concept of Pure chair originates from this. In the shape design of the chair, the designer makes it appear as naturally as possible. The chair is inspired by the Ming style swivel chair. The curve of the back and armrests has been improved, and the overall lines are more concise. The curved design of the seat cushion is more ergonomic. The connection method adopts tenon-and-mortise structure, which is stable enough and easy to process.

Through the study of traditional furniture structure, 3D model making and mechanical analysis, some new connection structures are created and applied to the design and manufacture of the chair. The flowing lines on the armrests and backrests are extremely challenging, while maintaining the comfort while maintaining the elegance and consistency of the shape curve. Use the method of making sludge models to consider the details and precise dimensions.
The project started in April 2017 in Hangzhou and finished in August 2019 in Milano.
Design comes from the in-depth consideration of interaction between people and daily necessities. The chair is a part of our daily life and an indispensable furniture. The chair urges us to communicate with people. The simple appearance of Pure chair and the simplicity of log materials make the people who use it more close to each other in conversation
Background: We know that industrialized production has replaced most traditional handicraft production, but through the improvement of production technology, more traditional processes can also be manufactured by machines. We dig out excellent traditional culture and combine contemporary aesthetics and production technology to design a chair.Measurement data: In order to make the chair more comfortable, the size of the traditional chair was measured, and the average size data of contemporary adults was combined to determine the specific size of the chair.
The idea"the beauty of simplicity surpasses all things in world " originated from the article"Heaven"by Zhuangzi . Only the most natural beauty can never fade, and other forms of beauty can not compare with it. The design concept of Pure Cchair originated from this.Introducing the concept of "returning to nature", the design of the chair removes some extra lines, making it a natural original state.
