The spirit of the design is to create a residential space which one anticipates to return to everyday. The core concept of the design is to allow the family members to feel at ease and gather their love, not to mention regaining the life energy. In this about 150m2 five-story building space, the project focuses on both personal space and emotional interaction between family members, as well as without losing the sense of belonging to home.
timber, rough stone tiles, iron, morden, simplicity
Materials like timber, rough stone tiles and iron are used. Meeting the expectation of the client, realising a home of warmth and a space of relaxing sense, the space is mainly painted in light color tone. Public space uses timber and rough stone tiles to dislay a visual and tactile sensations of the original feeling, realises a warm texture. The edge is designed with metal part to show the strength of cabinets. Master bedroom uses a more balanced cutting method to present an elegant atmosphere.
As the client likes simplicity design style, in such nearly 150m2 big space, how to avoid letting the space become too empty and boring, is the challenge for the designers. Therefore, other than considering the functionality for the whole family, furniture and other hardwares, the use of light color tone and raw texture building materials, the designers have included decorative ornaments to suit the atmosphere, creating a simple but warm and relaxing home.
The project is finished in October, 2018 in Anping District, Tainan, Taiwan.
Tranquility, leisure, bright color tone and permeability are the design highlights. 1F includes living, dining room and kitchen area, with natural sunlight rendering spacious; There is a master bedroom for each 2F and 3F. The dressing room suits the needs of the client; Daughters bedroom and guest bedroom are located on 4F; Study is located on 5F. Considering the preferences of the family, the decoration, furniture, hardwares and space planning applied combine well with the residential atmosphere.
The space design uses light color as base tone, materials like original timber and rough surface stone stiles etc. creates warm visual and touch sensations without losing the spirit of a home. The living and dining room as well as kitchen with sunlight make good use of the open space. The bright and wide public space forms a spacious sense and reach the relaxing feeling. The specially selected furniture and decorative ornaments preserve the warmth of a home designed in such simplicity style.
The client and his family live in a five-story detached house of nearly 150m2 and wish to enjoy a leisure life while caring one another. Thus, the spatial design is based on the origin and functions of home, enabling people to relax and gather love and warmth within it. Being a family who love to read, an adequate reading space with simplicity is needed. Thus, the design has perfectly combined both aesthetics and functionality, leading towards a spatial balance between atmosphere and living.
