The renovation design for the interior space of the over 20 year old house breaks the traditional concept and existing limit of the living room layout. The spaces of living and dining rooms are assembled into one to match the design theme of maintaining a close family relationship, so that the large, customized solid wood table is qualified with the useful functions of game playing, dining, book reading, and working.
Renovation project, aged house, traditional Japanese style, mood of culture
The fact why the designer uses the organic minimalism method to extend the awareness of five senses and firmly echoes with the simple lifestyle is to tell the nature and do nothing of Taoism Philosophy and showcase the peaceful, comfortable living essence. The designer creates a from outside in, peaceful symbiosis, sustainable relationship to naturally release the particular worth of art, network, and culture of point-and-line-to-plane.
For the renovation project of an aged house, apart from strengthening the basic house structures, the designer uses the woods, stones, cloth's color temperature, and network to reflect a simple image that indirectly balances and softens the cool spatial atmosphere and brings the mood of culture to extend an expectation of comfort, a desired living way with comfort, relax, and liberty, to truly echo with the line-to-plane design concept of the space.
The project finished in October 2019, located at Taipei city, Taiwan.
This project is a renovation design and planning for the aged house. What the design of the bar area in the entrance hall means the relaxing and expecting mood of ''being home''. The designer breaks the established rule about the boundary between living and dining rooms. A light, warm tone of life is born naturally. Also, the parents and kids spend their 24/7 time over here so that it not merely makes the family relationship closer but also gives the house owner, the couple, a chance to feel every wonderful detail of life with their pre-school-aged children.
The design theme of this project is to build the life sharing, feelings, and habits of a four-person household. As the interior space is no longer presented in a standardized nor sole formality/appearance. The designer utilizes the overlapping cold-tone, solid materials to showcase a simple, peaceful, and warm mood. Such a combination of materials cleverly creates a spacious sense of the space.
Time is short. Enjoy the wonderful daily life with your kids! According to the residents' living habits and needs, the designer builds the interior ambiance of the house to make close symbiosis relationships among people and environment, architecture, space, and function.
