The project is the first stage of kindergarten design and renovation; the site area is 1730 square feet, providing for the children living in Hong Kong can grow and learn in a beautiful learning environment. Students have children from the middle and lower classes of society on average in this kindergarten. So this kindergarten hopes to inspire children to learn in the story process through picture books and games. Emphasises the coordination of colour and space. The design focuses on the teaching kitchen, hall and reception. The kindergarten to design abstract interior space with fairy tales. It for children to live and learn in this space, while some graphic elements can constantly stimulate their imagination and inspiration.

The design is base on materials and forms aimed at simplicity and safety. All furniture materials also laminated with the E0 grade plywood, and there must be no harmful substances that can cause injury to the user. Moreover, all furniture all design is round corner not have the right angle. The furniture finishing also uses materials with antibacterial technology to make children healthier. The floor is produced by medical-grade non-textured plastic roll material, which is easy to clean and will not harm children when participating in activities. The air must have good quality and fluidity. Therefore, during construction, we use hazardous compounds that do not contain formaldehyde. As a result, no harmful odour released after completion. Besides, diatomaceous earth is used for walls, a natural material that can help clean up the air and damp proof.
This project is a non-profit organization project, so that low budgets for the renovation and design fee. In fact, this is the first phase of the project. Therefore, there are many design and engineering restrictions to adapt to the diverse teaching concepts of kindergartens.
The project started in Jun 2019 in Hong Kong and finished in August 2020 in Hong Kong.
Kindergartens need to consider the order of school attend class. The place must have a balanced arrangement. Therefore, there are create are 80 pairs of children's shoe cabinets in the spacious corridor. Before entering the school, pupils need to put on clean shoes to enhance hygiene. The left side of the main picture has the same concept. There are adult shoe covers under the seats for the convenience of visitors. Besides, the reception hall provides diversified functional areas for the students and parents can communicate with kindergarten teachers. Figures 3 and 4 are multifunctional kitchens. Here provides another atmosphere for children. A cooking school is being created where learners can experience the cooking process and the entire space design layout on the semicircular kitchen countertop's focus. The lighting arrangement also has the effect of focusing on the lecturer. This effect hopes that children will focus on the lecturer. Besides, the kitchen is a small picture book library where children can tell stories and read storybooks.
This project research can improve the environment of kindergarten and improve society. Children who have improved society are given opportunities to live and learn in an enlightening environment, improving and expanding the thinking of a wide range of social changes.
This project concept comes from the illusion, such as there have created graphics doors, stairs, clouds and curved of the winds on the ceiling. These abstract graphic elements interact to give children fantasy and stimulate their brain creativity. Usually, the accommodation space in Hong Kong is not large, so reserved the lobby space for the child with a spacious impression, hoping to bring warmth to the child. Especially the spacious waiting area planned at the entrance.
