This is a one and only space design has requested painters who draw an original drawings, and wall surfaces was signed and sealed by the artists which gave life to the story. The story stimulate sensibility. The designer requested four painters who worked on reproduction of the present condition of national treasure picture scrolls to paint original drawings for the walls and ceiling.

Unique Properties

In order to create an infinite depth and story in a Japanese style room, The designer requested four painters who worked on reproduction of the present condition of national treasure picture scrolls to paint original drawings for the walls and ceiling. A scan and transfer on the walls were completed in two days. Each of the unique, original drawings and wall surfaces was signed and sealed by the four artists which gave life to the story. The designer would like to showcase and share the beauty of Japanese.

Production Technology

Major materials wallpaper, diatomaceous earth, Japanese mat,tatami, plaster board, lighting, wood, fusuma, unique Japanese subtlety by using traditional materials such as hemp paper, natural mineral pigments, and gold leaf.

Design Challenge

The reality is that it is a six tatami mat Japanese style room. The designer exchanged questions and answers about how to increase its intrinsic valueand create opportunities for rethinking Japanese style rooms. Each of the hard, original drawings and wall surfaces was signed and sealed by the four artists, which gave life to the story. Utilizing the beauty of natural light, the living space other than the Japanese style room was made to be an inorganic space, and the attractiveness of both spaces was enhanced by contrasting with the gorgeous Japanese style room.

Project Duration

The project started in May 2019 and finished in September 2019 in Fukuoka, Japan.

Operation Flow

Leave an uninspiring Japanese style room next to the living room, so rethinking Japanese style rooms attraction.

Research

It is now just a year before the Tokyo Olympics, so The designer would like to showcase and share the beauty of Japanese renovation to the world, and leave it for future generations.

Inspiration

Things that have seen the cities transition and an ongoing redevelopment project coexist just a six minutes walk away from the station. The apartment house overlooking them looked like a modern castle. The designer consider the exclusive part with the roof balcony over 100 square fields overlooking the four sides as the tower of the castle, leave an uninspiring Japanese style room next to the living room, and utilize it as a special room for the landlord Shogun of this house.
