‘Remember Me’ is business cards developed to keep memories of the person and endangered species in business cards. These cards contain images of 28 endangered species shouting to remember them, and these animals are a material to induce compassion for the being forgotten. ‘Remember Me’ is designed so that the names of people and endangered species are exposed at the same time. The word ‘remember’ inserted in front of these names reminds people of their concern for these two forgotten beings.
Memory, Endangered species, Environmental protection, Sustainability, Business card
Designed in the shape of an endangered species, this business card is the same size as a regular business card, but the shape is slightly different depending on the animal type. This product is printed with soybean oil which is less environmentally polluted and is specially cut to be used as a bookmark. The back of the card is designed so that you can write small notes or letters.
Business cards are likely to be exchanged non-face-to-face in the near future. The next challenge is to create a new justification for having to use offline business cards in the rapidly changing trend of the times.
This project started from November 2019 and finished in March 2020. The design is done in Seoul, production in Seoul.
This business card has a bookmark and a memo paper function, both of which are ultimately devices for maintaining a memory of the business card's protagonist and endangered species. The bookmark function helps the names of the protagonists and endangered species in business cards be exposed from time to time, and the memo paper function helps to keep the memories of the other person longer through the transmission of sincerity and heart.
Initially, our goal was to improve business cards as a more valuable means of communication. While planning business cards based on endangered species that are being forgotten from people's memories, we came to the idea of expanding this project into a campaign to inform the public about endangered species. Because we thought that such an attempt could be a great opportunity to arouse public interest in endangered species beyond improving the one-off shortcomings of business cards.
While Contemplating to improve business cards as a more valuable means of communication, we found a common point between the protagonist of the business card and the endangered animals being forgotten because of indifference. With this in mind, we designed business cards based on endangered species. This is because endangered species were a good material to help people worry about things that are being forgotten. Besides, this project was an opportunity to draw attention to endangered species.
