Pupstar is a positioning technology company. The new brand design is for pre-launching its new product, Pupstar GPS Pet Tracker. The design presents the relationship between animals and positioning by using iconic graphics from the logo in a dynamic way. The fresh and pop colors convey technical support from products and passionate visual language to call attention and help people to never lose their pets. The consistent visual system works through all digital platforms as well.
Visual Identity, Logo, Branding, Stationary, Illustration, Product Design, Web Design
Exploring and creating simple iconic graphics to develop a logo both from pet and positioning, especially the visual look of animal paw, dog face, map pin, navigation arrow, and so on. The brand logo and stationery were printed on a textured matte recycled stock paper. The logo is presented by OLED light technology in product design so that the OLED light enhanced the legibility and visuality of the GPS tracker wearing on pets.
For the logo design, the biggest challenge part is the process of creating a graphic that conveys the relationship between pets and positioning. The whole visual language needs to present a friendly feeling based on product design, and also it has to show passion and impress to catch people's attention to avoid losing their pets.
The project started in July 2020 in San Francisco and finished in December 2020 in San Francisco, and was published and promoted via online digital marketing in December 2020.
The design creates a passionate visual experience for catching people's attention on this new product that could provide significant support for their pet lives. Also, the design helps marketing sales by making good communication and visual connection between pets and positioning services.
The research process focuses entirely on the subject matter. Building up an intriguing storytelling helps us to get more inspirations on creating the brand visual system. Using SurveyMonkey to collect data about how many people used pet tracker for their pets, and other surveys for brand competitors. Collecting stories especially from people who had the experience of losing their pets without using GPS Tracker products. Also, doing research and collecting competitor's logos and Pet-related brands' logos is important for making a unique and identifiable logo design on market. Finally, keep doing more sketches and drawing is the essential process to develop graphics for visual system until reaching the simple and meaningful designs.
Getting inspired and researched by people who had the experience of losing their pets. There are limit product options to prevent pet loss and protection on market. Deeply exploring the relationship and building connection between animals and positioning become the core message of the visual language, especially for logo design. The logo design exploration process focused on creating a simple and recognizable symbolic graphic to represent both pet and positioning, and also the design was aimed to evoke pet owners to realize the relationship and functionality of products.
