Raise the height of ceiling to facilitate ventilation, allowing the heat indoor going out from the windows. In addition, the eaves are extended to prevent excessive sunshine. To solve the problem of insufficient daylighting, add windows to introduce daylight and facilitate ventilation and temperature adjustment.
Eco-friendly green building materials and recyclable materials such as iron and wood are used. Besides, apply crystallization treatment and water-repellent treatment to stone materials to increase the durability and stain resistance ability.
The project finished in December 2020 in Changhua County, Taiwan.
Install vertically moving equipment and reorganize the layout of the space after topology research. The equipment is installed in the middle of the house, which strengthen the connection of the space and is convenient for the elderly to use. Considering the needs of the elderly, the room for them is arranged closest to the moving equipment, and the height of indoor steps and threshold of bathroom is reduced.
In terms of ventilation and energy saving design, active and passive air-conditioning methods are adopted. In hot Summer, the extended eaves can provide a sunshade for interior spaces, and the residents can actively adjust the temperature of a single room with air-conditioning equipment. In cool and pleasant Spring, Fall and Winter, the passive temperature adjustment method is adopted. The indoor and outdoor air circulation helps adjust the room temperature, improve air quality and save energy.
