The poster is inspired by various classical instruments, integrating the instruments and the type into a playful musical scene. This poster is planned to be printed in Lino Print and distributed around New York City. This poster was inspired by the letter form of the typeface Bio Rhyme Expanded.

Unique Properties

This poster is inspired by the designer's own experience as a creative professional and as well as live music enthusiast. As all industries were deeply impacted by the pandemic, the music industry was especially devastated. This poster was created as a way to support the music industry and also call out to local communities to keep their spirits up.

Project Duration

The project started in 2021 January and was completed one month later. It was intended to be printed with linocut printing and distributed in neighborhoods in New York City.

Inspiration

This poster was inspired by the letter form of the typeface Bio Rhyme Expanded. By integrating elements of classical instruments with the type, the designer created a playful musical scene with the use of geometric shapes, colors, and textures.

Project Overview

Support Local Music Poster has been a Silver winner in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
