Residential Space for Shi.mo Interior Design
Instead of going after one specific style, this space is designed with the concept of relaxing. Within the residence equipped with natural daylight and breeze, the designer selected ivory and milk tea colors as the main tonal and infused with wooden and stone elements. By adding layers appropriately, the interior radiates a refreshing and modern sense. Users are able to feel and touch the grains of wood and stone, along with the rich emotions of nature.

The overall applied the concept of primitive, simple, and lack of complexity, as the primary tonal; ecological materials and wooden elements are used to separate each area. The public area starts from the functional entryway to the round table of the dining room, the kitchen island, and the kitchen area; meanwhile, wooden cabinets are set up to increase functionality and space effect. The living room area is decorated with linear elements; double-wood blocks are continued towards the television wall. As for the private area, the stone floorings are paired to deliver a neat and simple visual sense.
Exquisite space, modern style, milk tea color, homogeneous materials, merged residences.
Stone materials, natural wood veneers, imported wallpapers, special paints, wooden cabinets.
Small residences merge the space of this project; therefore, creating a clear traffic flow while fulfilling functional needs and comprehensiveness was the critical point of the design. Since there is only one entrance, the designer used colors to create connections between the entryway, the dining room, the kitchen, and the living room, allowing users to transform emotions while entering different areas. Functions redefine the limited space, and its space effect and functionality are increased.
The project finished in May 2010 in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Within the limited space and initial spatial arrangement, fulfilling functional needs while achieving high space effect and delivering aesthetic was the designer primary task. Different materials are used within the four bedrooms and two living rooms as area divisions. At the same time, wooden tonal, stone plates, linear-designed doors, and special paints in the same color tone are expanded throughout the residence to add layers and create consistency. Furthermore, linear lightings are embedded in between the wooden cabinets while pairing with display cabinets made of grey mirrors, an ingenuity that differs from common storage areas.
This project is a residence combined with two households; four bedrooms and two living rooms are equipped within the 36-ping space. Because of the spatial comprehensiveness, the designer created a traffic flow that values the clients' lifestyle. Through the smooth traffic flow, the entryway connects the dining room, the kitchen, the living room, and bedrooms harmoniously. At the same time, materials in the same tonal are expanded throughout the space; wooden cabinets, embedded linear lightings, and other ingenuities have created unique characteristics for each area.
This project radiates a beautiful poetic sense within the transparent space that is equipped with natural lightings and a breeze that welcomes clients' simplicity and rustiness. The designer applied ecological colors for the overall space, such as warm wooden materials, rich grains of stones, and the elegant colors of milk tea; a house of four bedrooms and two living rooms is born within the harmonious balance.
