The shelf is made of elm with thick, heavy and simple appearance. It is connected with metal connectors on the basis of mortise and tenon structure. The bookshelf can be disassembled and assembled by itself. The components are made of elm straight materials to reduce material loss. The metal connectors are butterfly screws. The whole furniture is connected with metal connectors. Butterfly screws are convenient for manual DIY assembly. Some details are inserted with tenon and mortise structure. The applied tenon and mortise structure appears in the simplest form of insertion. Most of them are straight wood, which are processed by NC engraving and milling. The parts are simple and convenient for transportation, and the overall structure is stable.
On the basis of retaining Chinese elements, butterfly screws are used as ornaments, which not only retains the elegant and simple style of Chinese furniture, but also does not appear too heavy. On the basis of meeting the functional requirements, tenon and mortise structure is applied, and the disassembly structure is more convenient for transportation and assembly.
The design had started in Shenyang in March 2021, completed in Shenyang in June 2021, and displayed in the museum of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang in June in 2021.
