Packaging for Depot Creative
The agency was commissioned to develop the brand name, tone of voice as well as visual identity and packaging design for an innovative motorbike helmet accessory. The brief had a number of specific criteria, the packaging was to have a unisex appeal, to be reusable, enable high product visibility and be light weight for cost effective freight. The sleek and unique multi layered film pouch was designed to meet all of the client's requirements, as well as containing everything the purchaser needs to get up and running; the product, attachment clips, spacer and how-to brochure.

Simple tear apart packaging with a zip lock closure for reuse.
Research
Research around behaviour and attitudes of bike riders was necessary to identify best means of communication benefits of the product. The product of the packaging was key to supporting all of the clients criteria. For product visibility we selected a frosted film, to highlight the black product we laminated a red film to the reverse side of the foil. Using foil, coloured film and frosted film together enabled us to achieve the exact look we wanted and reduce the number of cylinders required to print, therefore affording the client reduced production costs.
Inspiration
The inspiration for the project was based on the concepts of freedom and simplicity both associated with riding motorbikes. The product is designed to give you greater freedom with your hair and the simplicity is the ease with which it can be used, both of which needed to be translated directly in to the packaging itself.
Project Overview
Hightail Packaging has been a Iron winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution. Recipients of the Iron A' Design Award are acknowledged for their practical innovations and contributions to their respective fields, providing solutions that improve quality of life and foster positive change. These designs are a testament to the skill and dedication of their creators, showcasing their ability to address real-world challenges through thoughtful design.
