Packaging for Paper Parade Inc.
The Heralbony Package was created as branding for an art-life brand that sells art by artists with intellectual disabilities. Based on the brand concept of promoting the works of artists with intellectual disabilities, blue, the symbolic color of World Autism Day, was chosen for the brand color. In addition, one type of blue paper was selected as the brand's official paper out of more than 9,000 types of paper products from Japanese paper makers. By using only that blue paper for all brand tools that customers touch, a consistent worldview was designed.

This package was created as part of the branding of Heralbony, an art-life brand that develops artworks by artists with disabilities for fashion and interior design. In order to unify the brand's style, a paper-derived branding method, named "brand paper," was implemented in which packaging and other branding tools that customers come into contact with are developed using a single type of paper. Blue, the symbolic color of World Autism Day, was chosen as the brand color to symbolize Heralbony.

Magellan Blue, which gives a sense of elegance, was selected as the brand paper from Biotope GA-FS, which has a paper thickness and craft-like texture that can be deployed on packages and shopping bags. The brand style was unified by using only foil stamping for the packaging and promotional tools. The foil-stamped logo mark was designed with a horse motif, and the logotype was designed in an original font whose skeleton was extracted from the characters in the diary book of his autistic brother.
Since Heralbony is a social start-up and it is difficult to allocate a budget for packaging, we set up a regulation of one-point foil stamping of the same size on a single type of brand paper. By only using foil stamping for the packaging and promotional tools, the high quality feel of the paper and foil was preserved, while eliminating the color proofing process in the printing process, thereby cutting unnecessary costs. This also contributed greatly to the unification of the brand's style.
This project first began in December 2019, and was completed in October 2022, and is being implemented in packaging and other branding tools which are sold at the department stores all over Japan.
The package contains the products sold by Heralbony. Other items include gift boxes, shopping bags and promotional tools.
SMEs have not been able to achieve satisfactory branding due to budget constraints. They focused on the quality control of Japanese paper trading companies and developed a method of using one type of paper for all branding materials. This approach has enabled us to create a consistent style while greatly reducing the cost of color proofing and enabling branding at a lower price point. They have created an environment where small businesses can take on the challenge of high-quality branding.
Heralbony is an art-life brand that develops artworks by artists with disabilities for fashion and interior design. The founder of Heralbony, whose brother is autistic, launched the art-life brand so that his autistic brother and his family could interact with society with their hearts open. Therefore, the brand color was decided to be "Biotope GA-FS Magellan Blue" from among more than 9,000 types of paper, based on the theme of blue, which is also the symbolic color of World Autism Day.
