The designer refined the elements of the Ancient Tea-Horse Road into symbols. The spread of color, the dappled dye of light, marble, and metal sense of feeling collision increase the interest in the space and drama. It is as if time and space were intertwined, the distant experience in the image and the dreamlike fusion of real-time are produced. The inheritance of culture gives the building its soul and temperature.
Ancient Tea-Horse Road, Local craftsmanship, Regional culture, Hotel, Poetry.
The design concept of dialogue with history is injected into this project. Through design aesthetics, the local famous natural landscape elements such as the ancient Tea-Horse Road, the Honghe Hani Rice Terraces, movable-type printing works of art, etc. are integrated with technology, history, and culture. Deeply presenting the local customs and local humanistic spirit, making a new interpretation of traditional elements, and expressing the art of life in detail.
Design is not immutable, and cultural innovation is the basis of design. The reasonable arrangement of space is also the primary task of design. The overall color should also be properly matched to meet the functional requirements and enhance the aesthetic effect of the hotel. Improve the design concept and feasibility, and connect them in a good way.
The project is located in the core business district of Kunming, Yunnan Province. It started in June 2019 in Kunming, China, and finished in August 2020.
Entering the lobby, landscape patterns constitute the decorative background, silently writing oriental imagery into modern texture. The organic form enriches the visual level, and the flexible curves provide artistic tension for the surrounding environment, with the characteristics of vitality and upward growth, leaving the language of curves to the space, and allowing people gathered here to rediscover and discover the relationship between man and nature.
The designer applies the unique craft of Yunnan, the texture of traditional ethnic architecture and unique details to the interior design. Deeply presenting local customs and local humanistic spirit, making a new interpretation of traditional elements, and expressing the art of life in details.
The inspiration for the hotel space comes from the famous local natural landscape elements such as the ancient tea-horse road, the Honghe Hani Rice Terraces, movable-type printing artworks, Yi culture, and craftsmanship. The combination of local colors, materials, and nature is adopted, showing the profound historical heritage of Yunnan.
