This versatile space serves as a welcoming reception for visitors, a product showcase with an elevated floor for presentations, fluid workstations, and a relaxation lounge, all designed to double as a cohesive conference area. Enhanced by an inviting ambiance, it seamlessly integrates functionality with aesthetics, catering to a variety of needs in a single, well-designed environment.

The project was designed with ACAD and 3Dmax Arnold software. Every element in the plan was created in 3D and was visualised in renderings. Furthermore, video sequences were produced to present a dynamic perspective of the design, while Virtual Reality previews offered an immersive glimpse into the envisioned outcome. This gave us an oportunity to present to the client details, various design options and palette of materials and colors. The atrium's transformation involved custom-made elements, primarily to meet fire safety standards and specific criteria for material dimensions, weight, and, most importantly, sound absorption capabilities.
The project's main challenge was transforming a space with echoing into a welcoming communal area. The strategy to mitigate the echoing involved the intricate fractalization of every conceivable surface. This included the installation of carpeting and elevated sections on the floor, the application of slatted panels, moss coverings, and a water wall, as well as the incorporation of sound-absorbing framed textile panels and perforated plywood boards on the ceiling. Additionally, 200 suspended lights, arranged in an algorithmic pattern, not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also contribute to the overall acoustic improvement.
First contact with the client was in December 2022 in Bad Munder and the project was completed in December 2023 also in Bad Munder, Germany.
Upon entering the atrium the internal park ambiance is revealed. The longer walls are cladded with slatted wood panels somewhere interupted with inserts of moss surfaces, elsewhere with waterwall composition, balcony and lounge composition, or reception module. The shorter walls are completly covered with three types of preserved moss and bark. The ceiling composition is made of different types of light fixtures and sound absorbing elements. All these elements provide an open, bright and complex ambience that enables a variety of activities in an attractive environment.
How to interrupt the intense phase of work for a short break, a cup of coffee, a glass of refreshing drink, a conversation with colleagues, maybe attend a conference, a party after a perfectly completed project or maybe just receive a guest in the company. All in one place, one environment for all these activities was one of the challenges, and through these palette of possibilities to encourage employees to meet.
A walk through the indoor park, surrounded by greenery, wood and trees, running water, a lot of day and artificial light and outdoor cinema. All these elements prevent echoing in the room which was an issue before the renovation. Through fractalisation of every possible surface we achieve better sound absorbtion and along the way we also tell a story.
