Private Gallery for Chu Studio

The gallery is located at an apartment, area at 120 m2, belongs to a sculpture artist. The design concept is to show the modernity by using metallic texture, but also combine with nature element without losing the unique shape of the sculpture, and to let the guest view the sculpture easily an opening space has been designed. The designer used a very special technique on the Y Pillar, the outside material was mixed by two types of copper, and after both copper were mixed up and having a chemical reaction, it turns in to a silver color pure iron looking copper, it was the best part of the entire project.

Unique Properties

Production Technology

Marble and wooden is the main material, but i also used a special paint that is mixed by metal and copper.

Design Challenge

the hardest part of this project is to communicate with the client, due to he is also and an artist, so he has a lot of his own idea.

Project Duration

the project is started in January 2019 in Taipei and finished in May 2019 in Taipei.

Operation Flow

it is a private gallery, the owner use it for inviting special guest.

Research

the main idea is to let the special guest could sequentially view all the sculpture easily.

Inspiration

My inspiration is to let the special guest experience the fashion sense from this sculpture artist, and to show the extensibility of metal.

Simplicity Private Gallery has been a Iron winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
