In this space of approximately 182 square feet, together with the house owner couple whom the designer had a wonderful experience working with, the designer had got a grasp of the necessaries needed for both the current and the future living, especially as a consideration for the new preschool members of the family, the space need not to be too closure due to the active movement of the children. By using the space partition materials, the common space could achieve a semi-opened state and create diversity of the space.
semi opened partitions, natural materials, sliding door, life exploring
Solid wood, iron, marble, spray paint, paint, glass, iron, solid wood flooring is the main material. The living space uses log material on the main wall, forming a simple and natural touch. The entrance with the grille screen design, combined the form and meaning, and also the grains of the stones. With the combination of both the living space and the entrance, this design shows a taste of nature which differs from the standard wall planning and also gives a fresh sight.
The space behind of the kitchen was planned for multi usage. Sliding door is used and links the space to the corridor. This solves the problem of the original corridor walkway for being too dark, creates a transparent and independent view while sliding the door open and close. The design also puts attention on the living needs. For example, the variety of the room function, such as a study room and a playing room for the children has also been considered during designing the space.
The project started in October 2018 and finished in March 2019 in New Taipei city, Taiwan.
This design uses a simple contemporary line as to correspond to the natural element, and also perfectly interpreted the owners ideal concept of home. And also, through the use of the open vector formed by the continued extension of the material, the materials and design form a perfect conversion, complement and also a harmony to each other, hence brings out a humanity concept which differs from the contemporary styles.
The whole area applies a combination of solid wood material that are low in formaldehyde and environmentally friendly paint to create a space which has a perfect combination with living, nature and the environment, which defined through the aesthetic of lines visual transparency and consistency.
