Greyder V
Package Design for GREYDER
This design makes it easy for consumers to carry and store their purchased shoes. A plastic bag is needed to carry the old-style shoe boxes, but this design also serves as a bag with the help of the upper rings. It also makes it easy to take the shoes out of the box thanks to the V-shaped drawers. Also, thanks to its vertical storage solution, it also allows people who have a second shoe in their office to use it as furniture.

Unique Properties
This package offers the consumer a simple solution to carry shoes. Classic shoe boxes need a plastic bag when transported. The handles in this design eliminate the need for plastic bags. Shoe storage compartments make it easy to unpack the shoes.

Production Technology
The package is produced by grinding method from carton. 100% recyclable and biodegradable materials have been used.
Design Challenge
The packages had to be produced a good workmanship from a material of quality since objective was to make the box to be kept by the consumer to use for a long time. Faced with 2 important challenges in this process. 1- Transportation of the packages from the package producer to the shoe producer. 2- Packages being covered with dust during the residence time in the storage of the shoe producer.
Project Duration
The project began in January 2017. It took 1 year to develop the design and it is been launched in Turkey in July 2018.
Operation Flow
Plastic bags were used for carrying shoe boxes before. The need for plastic bags for carrying, keeping and storing has been met with this design. This resulted in less plastic waste than before. Especially, we observed that businesswomen are keeping a spare shoe in their office. Due to the small space it takes, this package also became a frequently used furniture in means of storage.
Research
Face-to-face interviews were held with 10 women working in the office. Questions were asked about buying, carrying and using shoes and the problems that this design could solve were identified: 1- Packaging the shoes with plastic bags in the sales points. 2- Standard shoe boxes being unable to meet the needs of people who keep a spare shoe in their offices. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, a design has been made that offers both practical portability and creative storage.
Inspiration
As people walk, one foot heels on the other. This creates a "V" shape. This movement also inspired product packaging. When the package is opened, the shoes form a "V" shape, just like walking.
