Honey for Wuhan Little Bee Food Co., Ltd.

The design of the honey gift box is inspired by the "ecological journey" of Shennongjia with abundant wild plants and good natural ecological environment. Protecting the local ecological environment is the creative theme of the design. The design adopts traditional Chinese paper-cut art and shadow puppet art to show the local natural ecology and five rare and endangered first-class protected animals. Rough grass and wood paper is used on the packaging material, which represents the concept of nature and environmental protection. The outer box can be used as an exquisite storage box for reuse.

Unique Properties

Production Technology

As for packaging materials,we use a slightly rough texture of the original ring of wood paper,and it is consistent with the original ecological product characteristics, natural environmental characteristics.

Design Challenge

Because it is limited edition, the production process of packaging without affecting the quality of the premise, using laser engraving to show the details of packaging, packaging production is a challenge and test.

Project Duration

Completed in 2019, participated in the Wuhan International Design Biennial, and won the gold prize of "Hubei Geographical Indication Product Contest"

Operation Flow

This packaging design not only reflects the scarcity of products, but also as a local geographical identification products, with a high collection and gift value. Communicate and interact with vivid display. And after enjoying delicious food, the outer box can be used as an exquisite storage box, and the glass jar can store small objects for reuse.

Research

We hope to distinguish from ordinary honey products and use the five most precious first-level protected animals in shennongjia as visual elements to reflect local natural culture and become guardians of local cultural and natural resources.For paper material selection,the paper is looking for the disappearing folk traditional paper-cutting, reflect on the protection of natural ecology and cultural heritage, reflect the product's most natural,ecological,honest cultural characteristics.

Inspiration

As the rare honey from the world's best-preserved shennongjia natural ecological reserve, it is inspired by a natural "Ecological Journey". Bees are the "nature guide" of this tour, leading us to appreciate and feel the local culture and natural scenery, highlighting the theme of caring for our homeland.

Ecological Journey Gift Box Honey has been a Silver winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
