Dessert Bar for Idea International
Selfie Konditori is a small oasis of brightness in the sometimes long and dreary northern days and nights. As a requirement, the client asked designers to make the space Insta-photogenic, a new, but often occurring request nowadays. They approached with a concept to create a décor with bright, warm tones using marble, brass, and gold-toned mirrors as well as natural and warm textures and a lot of greenery, something which the city lacks due to the harsh climate. Slanted small mirrors are installed onto a wall clad with roses, setting a scene for an almost surreal and very memorable selfie.

Production Technology
The materials such as brass, mirrored fixtures and glossy bespoke furniture used in the interior are reflecting the idea of "the perfect selfie" sticking to the theme of self-reflection and joy.
Design Challenge
The name of the venue "Selfie" was already chosen when we got assigned to work on the interior thus the team needed to find a way not only to give guests a beautiful set when someone is taking their picture but also to facilitate the taking of selfies as much as possible.
Project Duration
The project started in January 2019 and was finished in September 2019 in Tromso, Norway.
Operation Flow
The colorful features in the space are molded to fit the user's needs in order to create an energizing experience.
Research
We approached the design with a concept to create a decor with bright, warm tones using marble, brass, and gold-toned mirrors as well as natural and warm textures and a lot of greenery, something which the city lacks due to the harsh climate.
Inspiration
The primary inspiration for space came from the already chosen name "Selfie" which proposed a joyful and fun look at the dessert bar concept, creating a fun and bubbly interior, curated by reflections, color, and brass finishings.

Project Overview
Selfie Konditori Dessert Bar has been a Iron winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution.
