modular, function-based layout, Haipai culture, flagship bank branch
Built with modern construction materials, the bright, spacious outer functional areas give a natural and harmonious air and create a sense of security, allowing clients to do business without worry. The inside areas feature the wood and leather upholstery and a dark color scheme, which brings an air of seriousness and solemness and highlights fairness and rigor, helpful to win clients' trust. The floor-to-ceiling windows are made of frosted glass to reduce the dazzle of natural light and eliminate the interference of external lights.
The major challenge for the design of this project is the trade-off between limited space and unlimited functionality. To this end, the design team creates a moving line that connects service demonstration, experience, communication and business transaction. With the subdivision and integration of multiple functional areas, the branch ensures full functionality and simplifies the process of doing business, offering clients efficient, convenient services in a comfortable environment.
The project began its design in 2020 and was completed on Beijing's Financial Street in 2021.
The square dome at the lobby, which resembles the Huangpu River, symbolizes uprightness and rigor in traditional Chinese culture. Corresponding to the solemn atmosphere of the inner functional areas, the dome highlights the bank’s serious, meticulous attitude and brings a sense of security to clients. The embedded information display under the dome demonstrates banking services, simplifying the process of most-required services and offering greater convenience to customers.
As a flagship bank branch located in Beijing's financial area, the project needs to attract more customer traffic amid fierce competition from other financial institutions. To achieve this goal, the design team, while ensuring full functionality, integrates Shanghai's Haipai culture into the architecture to improve clients’ communication and service experience, and thereby win their favor and trust, increase customer stickiness and convey the brand values.
As the flagship branch of a local bank in Shanghai, the project draws inspiration from the inclusive of city, avantgarde Haipai culture. Its ceiling is an aesthetic dome that symbolizes the Huangpu River. A harmonious combination of culture and architecture, this design creates a juxtaposed visual effect of history and modernity and induces associations with urban culture of Shanghai. Meanwhile, it conveys the brand values in a subtle manner, contributing to the establishment of corporate image.
