The sketches were drawn in pencil, then scanned and drawn using Photoshop.
The difficulty lies in looking up the relevant background information of the times. China's history has a long history. It is difficult to find the background of the times in which sports with different characteristics flourished in the long history. Only by reading a large number of documents and the aid of mind maps can we achieve the perfect integration of sports and the times, realize the combination of modern aesthetics and traditional elements, and make the picture have both the sense of history and the sense of vitality of sports.
The project was started at Northeast University in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China in December 2022 and completed at Northeast University in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China in February 2023.
The illustration was released on the Internet to attract the public and show the charm of traditional Chinese sports.
Under the background of the vigorous development of sports events around the world, this study, based on the oriental perspective, collected five different traditional Chinese sports, namely "acrobatics", "cuju", "equestrian", "five bird games" and "throwing", by consulting ancient books and relevant papers, and created five different theme illustrations according to the different times at that time, It is helpful for people to further understand the philosophical connotation, cultural connotation and humanistic spirit contained in Chinese traditional sports.
The inspiration of the illustration comes from traditional Chinese sports. Many sports in China have been passed down for thousands of years. Illustrators try to show sports with distinct Oriental cultural characteristics in the long history of China, and show the wisdom, rich imagination and creative spirit of the ancestors to the modern people, as well as fully reflect the philosophical connotation, cultural connotation and humanistic spirit contained in sports.
