Unique Properties
The Chinese character "Feixi" serves as the central visual element, presented in a bit of artistic calligraphic form. The silhouette of the character "Fei" reflects the influence of modern architecture and iconic developments in Feixi County, while the silhouette of the character "Xi" represents the ancient buildings with historical and cultural imprints. This form of representation evokes a shared impression of the city among both locals and nonlocals, fostering a sense of emotional connection in the community.

Production Technology
Once the creative direction and visual presentation strategy are confirmed, a calligraphic typeface is first created in a hand-drawing form. Representative elements are then selected and transformed into images, which are seamlessly integrated into the font design to ensure a coherent style. Pro image editing software is used to compose the layout, thereby enhancing visual layers and ensuring a smooth reading experience.
Design Challenge
The biggest challenge encountered in the design phase is to evoke emotional resonance and recognition from both new and long-time residents of Feixi at first glance. The key factor to achieving this lies in selecting the appropriate visual elements. For new residents, modernization and rapid progress are the aspects to highlight; for long-time residents, he deep historical and cultural legacy should be honored and exhibited.
Project Duration
The project kicked off on December 2023 in Feixi, wrapped up on January 2024 in Feixi, and posters were placed in March 2024 on outdoor and physical platforms, including bus stop ads in Feixi County.
Operation Flow
Upon the finalization of the design, the posters are placed on online and physical media platforms for public exposures. The inclusion of typical silhouette patterns, such as bridges, high-speed railways, and buildings, is visually associated with the title "Feixi”. These elements are crucial for effectively conveying information and conferring brand identity to the county.
Research
Feixi is home to some notable landmarks, including the Jinzhai Road Double A Daqiao Taohua Science and Innovation Valley Industrial Park. Among these, the Jinzhai Road Double A Bridge, a crucial transportation junction, was put into operation on June 2023. What the character “Xi” incorporates is significant historical and cultural sites of the county, such as the Sanhe Ancient Town and the former residence of Liu Ming, the first governor of Taiwan, both rich in history spanning over 2,500 years.
Inspiration
Feixi County has a time-honored historical and cultural legacy, but economic pressures drove many young individuals to seek employment elsewhere. However, the local economy has been driven to the fast lane in recent years. The introduction and development of industries have not only boosted economic progress, but also brought about drastic changes within the city. The design team aimed to visually document these perceptible urban changes.
Project Overview
The Impression of Feixi Poster has been a Iron winner in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution. Recipients of the Iron A' Design Award are acknowledged for their practical innovations and contributions to their respective fields, providing solutions that improve quality of life and foster positive change. These designs are a testament to the skill and dedication of their creators, showcasing their ability to address real-world challenges through thoughtful design.
