Country House for Cibelle Costa Estudio de Arquitetura
The master suite was designed for a country house. Natural materials were used bringing the sensation of nature inside home. The great challenge was also using sustainable materials in order to conserve natural resources. The space was designed for a couple, using various shades of gray and to contrast with the cold palette, elements as wood furniture, copper lamps and lots of greenery. Highlights to the photograph art frames, the art crafts and the hand braided fibers ceiling. The concept idea of this field refuge was to inspire the couple to a true connection to the nature and themselves.

The master suite was designed for a country house using alternative materials to replace natural ones, such as wood, bricks and natural fibers. The proposal invites the users to a warm and inspiring atmosphere with a sustainable vision. A deck floor made from recycled pet bottle waste were used on the bath area. The lining's synthetic fibers of the ceiling replaced the natural fibers, but retain the essence of nature. The master suite was designed for a couple, in various shades of gray and to contrast with this cold palette, wood furniture, copper lamps, textures and lots of greenery.

The challenge was to find new materials that were practical and easy to maintain the texture and visual language of wood, bricks and natural fibers. Vinyl coverings and ecological deck were used to replace wood. The synthetic fibers of the lining replaced the natural fibers. Gray linen wallpapers have replaced natural linen fabrics. Ceramic tiles replaced natural bricks.
A natural atmosphere of a country house is present but in order to save natural resources, some alternative materials were used, as vinyl coatings to replace wood, synthetic fibers manually braided in the ceiling and the ecological bathtub base of PET material. Highlights for the square swing bench hanged by sisal ropes, the fireplace as a color therapy element, the window photography behind the toilet simulating a garden view, hand-crocheted quilts, the copper lamps refer to the old candle chandeliers. All of these contributed not to have a main specific angle of prominence.
The project started in August 2018 and finished in November 2018, and was exhibited in "Mostra Soul" exhibition in Franca SP, Brazil
The original division of the master suite was three small spaces. Two walls were removed to open and transform the small rooms into a large and integrated environment. Only a wall that gives privacy to the toilet and the shower remained. After remove the walls, a concrete beam was left to support the ceiling, starting the idea to repeat the beams throughout the ceiling, with a plasterboard structure and indirect lighting. At the back of the bathtub area, the beams become vertical panels with mirror coating and a green background with natural plants.
The proposal brings natural elements inspiring warmth and well-being, an affective architecture, which embraces and engages the users. We chose similar materials to replace wood, bricks and natural fibers. At the bathtub area floor, an ecological deck made by recycling PET bottles, with a matte natural wood texture. The ceramic coatings applied to the bath walls refer to bricks. At the bedroom, the floor, the bed back wall and the ceiling beams are vinyl-coated, and between them, the synthetic fiber linings are hand braided and receive indirect lighting on.
This design concept is the idea of a sensorial and affective architecture, inviting the users to feel the space with all their senses, smelling the lavender scents, hearing sweet songs and water sound, touching the textures, wools and soft fabrics as well as visual sense. This project brings nature into the space, inviting to relax and connect with the true essence of human being.
