Showcase Exhibition for Chunlyn WWCB Tech
Diax is a new recycled material with versatile applications. The goal of the exhibit was to highlight its potential and attract collaborators. To encourage curiosity and ideas, the exhibit was designed bright and open. To be low-waste, it was designed to use rental frames, modular display boards, and direct-to-board printing. Example products were also created to showcase that Diax is not just a material; it's the catalyst for a more sustainable life.

To strongly convince potential partners of Diax’s potential, tangible examples were made. Brainstorming from the material’s qualities, a few with high value were chosen. To produce them, rendered 3D models were printed and turned into silicone molds. Previous experience helped inform Diax ratios and drying time. Additionally, a series of texture blocks were created to showcase varying surface shrinkage in mixtures with cement, sand, clay, chalk, or paper pulp.
Exhibitions are often temporary, and thus designed and built in a way that produces a large amount of post-demolition trash. This design challenges that default, while creating an aesthetic and meaningful exhibition. It achieves this with rented modular frames and lighting instead of single-time construction. Also, the client’s needs in the future prompted which products and signage to create. Modular display boards were created to allow for future spatial rearrangement and content updating.
Project planning started in April 2023, and the showcase was featured at the Experience Life exhibition on a weekend in July 2023 in Tainan, Taiwan.
Unique from the other cubicle booths, this exhibit uses a bright, open design around a tall central axis to attract visitors to curiously stroll in. Spotlights and placement at hand-level encouraged visitors to touch the various material samples and product examples. Interested professionals could leave their business card in exchange for a product sample bag. To great success, the booth was shared a lot on social media and material samples quickly ran out.
This exhibition aimed to sustainably showcase the potential of Diax and attract collaborators. Several new product examples were created, and an open, bright exhibit shared the material in an inspiring, tangible way. This approach paid off with several new partnerships formed and little waste produced as a result of the exhibition design. The client also decided to officially establish a brand for the new material.
Prior cases produced great results in discovering product applications for Diax, a low-waste, adaptable material. However, as the small/medium-sized manufacturer, Chunlyn faced challenges translating these project successes into new business opportunities and demonstrating Diax's value to potential partners. Inspired by this challenge, the design of this exhibit aimed to encourage visitor’s imagination and attract like-minded partners for further development.
