The design takes into considering the properties of the flower tea. Also, Xishuangbanna is a tropical rain forest area with ancient trees. Therefore the material of the outside box is made of black special paper with tree texture. The outside box uses the technique of printing and bronzing for avoiding mass-producing to go wrong.
Xishuangbanna of Yunnan in China is an ethnic minority habitation area. The local culture of Xishuangbanna is very abundant. Especially the colour of the local people's clothing is various and gorgeous. Therefore I applied the colour element of the local people's clothing on my illustration. The illustration has also applied the aesthetics of modern young consumer group. It provides not only a local feature element but also a modern aesthetics effect.
The project began in September 2018 in Shenzhen, China, and was completed in November 2018 in Shenzhen, China.
The homogenization of the flower tea on the current market is more serious. The design takes into consideration of making a difference with the existing products on the market. It creates a connotative and storytelling effect on our product. This design uses the Xishuangbanna’s elements which are peacock, tea tree, flower and girl. The idea of applying illustration on the design is to produce an easy-to-understand and impressive result. It provides a more direct and in-depth understanding of products for the consumer. I believe my design of the product will stand out among the current products on the market.
Tasting tea has become a life attitude in this fast-paced era. The market seems to show up endless varieties of tea. After researching and analyzing the current market, I found that most of the flower tea products on the market are applying the flower as a design element on the packaging. The application of the culture element of Xishuangbanna on my packaging design of the tea product is for producing a greatly difference from existing packaging design of tea product on the market. The application of creative ideas on my design such as using peacock and the national costume is to represent local characteristics of Xishuangbanna. I believe it will provide a strong impression for the consumer. Moreover it presents a unique local culture of Xishuangbanna in the design.
The peacock is a unique animal in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China. The residents in Yunnan regard the peacock as a mascot. I use the peacock as the main element in my design. The peacock in the design combines with the leafy tea trees, local flowers, and the image of a girl who lives in the local rainforest. The design presents a harmonious picture of human and nature.
